Earth Day, marked globally on April 22, is a an opportunity to remind the world of the critical need to protect and preserve our only home. VE Ivovik also joined this global call for action and taking steps towards ensuring a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.

Environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, loss of biodiversity and deforestation are a global problem and no nation is excused from tackling them. Raising awareness of these pressing issues serves to encourage people to learn more and understand their impact on the planet.

But what can we - ordinary citizens - do, to make a difference: in Ivovik we believe we can all adopt sustainable practices and eco-friendly habits, which start from an individual, further to family, and society as a whole.

We have inspired our employees to give contribution to reducing their carbon footprint, by recycling paper and plastic waste, using fabric shopping bags in place of plastic ones, conserving energy, joining community clean ups and tree-planting, among other actions.

The company presented a week-long challenge for employees called “There’s Plan B but no Planet B”. The challenge consists of 3 abstentions: no purchase of non-recyclable items, no use of fossil fuel vehicles as a means of transport to and from work (public transport allowed), and “lights off” for one hour every day, starting from April 22. So far, all company employees have accepted the challenge.
