26 October 2022, financial closure of the first Chinese energy investment project in Bosnia and Herzegovina was achieved by VE IVOVIK d.o.o. Sarajevo for establishing an 84MW wind power farm at Livno & Tomislavgrad.

The loan is financed by Siyuan Investment Co.,Ltd. It was established in 2019, taking unified management of two medium-and long-term investment funds, China-Africa Fund for Industrial Cooperation and China-LAC Industrial Cooperation Investment Fund. It is dedicated to participating in the “Belt and Road Initiative” and promoting common development and prosperity of China and the world.

The project is jointly invested by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) and China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd (GENERTEC). It is being implemented as a cooperative fruit of the China - Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Summit in 2021 which was attended by the heads of China and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is defined as a significant project by the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Construction has been started since July 2022, aiming to start testing and operation in June 2023.
